David Archuleta: When You Say You Love Me (Tribute)

Haha okay, here is the video I promised, September 13th on the dot! :D I hope you all enjoy it, because this one is for you!

I wanted to make a video using When You Say You Love Me, speculated to be David's song expressing thanks to his fans, because it's really sweet and I just love the way the song builds. The lyrics are absolutely gorgeous, too. Some of them just honestly take my breath away, as cliché of a phrase that is, but I mean it! I've never heard the Josh Groban version, but the way David sings it, man, again: my breath is STOLEN lol. Ironically, my favourite lyric from the song is "at times I can hardly breathe", haha.

As I mentioned in the preview video's summary, I used footage from the Utah performance because it seemed like such an emotional and intimate moment. On a personal note, I didn't actually hear David's rendition of this song until I went to the show in Toronto, and I just totally fell in love with it! I actually gasped and whispered ohmygosh at one point haha, I know, I'm a dork! But I was just blown away, and I had goosebumps all over. He sings it amazingly.

I hope my video does it justice at least a little bit. I have no way of knowing if it has the right vibe or anything, because I think the song is just so personal to David. My interpretations might not be very good, but oh well. I really tried to stray from making it cheesy, and just concentrated on making it a genuine, heartfelt piece. I REALLY hope you guys like it!

I really enjoyed making it. I just love the music so much. And so much has happened these past few months, it was kind of nice to combine some of the sweetest moments all in one place.

This is not my last David video, but it may be for awhile because of how crazy school is (my senior year in high school, ahh!) I really wanted to make this video special. I hope it can mean something to you guys! Thank you so much for watching and just being so sweet. I'm really grateful and just so amazed at how nice and supportive everybody is! Thank you!

I am going to come back and edit this summary later to add a bunch of credits for clips and images used in the video. Right now I'll start off by saying that the captured Utah performance came from EvelynFOJG, who I will eternally adore, haha, because she was so generous in letting me use it. Thank you so much, Evelyn!

I think David put more feeling to this song. The audiences feel like he sang this song to them. He was just 17 YO. Josh G. is a very good and talented singer, but I believe Josh G. wasn't able to do that when he was 17 YO. The connection between David and the audiences, David hipnotized and mesmerized the audiences. So far, no AI contestant will ever be able to do the way David does each time he performs.

The Prayer sung by Celene and Andrea Boccelli was by far the best duet. JG sung it well as he has a beautiful voice but without feeling. I guess it depends on what the listener hears when an artist sings. JMHO.

JG has a beautiful voice know doubt about it. But David singing this song let's me feel every word that he is singing. Beautiful cover of this song. Especially from a singer with only one working vocal cord. I witnessed this song sung on the AI Tour in Philly and it was Magical. David's voice filled the rafters in that venue and the audience went wild. This video does not capture this Guy's voice as well as in a live setting. Bravo David!
