  • As a professional painter, I must say that the use of a "W" pattern is a huge waste of effort and will create more work than necessary. Load your roller being sure to stay about a half roller width away from the corner and start rolling from the middle of the wall height and work the paint to the floor and ceiling lines. Excessive rolling is not only a waste of your effort, it can result in a less smooth finish. Roll each successive section and slightly overlap keeping a "wet edge"

  • To continue, taping of the ceiling line is not practical especially with textured ceilings. Cut in the ceiling line carefully and cross roll close to the ceiling edge as you roll the wall sections. Using a 5' paint roller pole will allow you to easily move the roller the length of the wall, be careful when coming to the ceiling and baseboard areas so you don't have excessive paint when you stop your painting stroke. Don't try to squeeze all the paint from the roller and don't roll excessively.

  • @anjmarla Yep! you are right! I would NEVER ever use that "W" type of application on the walls at all - It is a total WASTE of time! To me it is a utterly Wrong approach!

  • @Immortalized1 for overall quility, based on colors, coverage, and duribility, and also price and ease of application, i would professionally recommend Benjamin Moore

  • @USAPatriot7761 Sherwin Williams is where it's at. No contest
