@triftenC Yeah, if I were half the asshole Yahweh is, all my friends would be rocks too.

@pilgrimpater: and if god has a face, what color is his skin? His eyes? What does god eat? Does he get boogers? Drool in his sleep? Does he sleep? Pointless questions, i know, but fun to ask. Not to mention god's ass crack: hairy?

@TaylorX04 I wasn't out to change your mind lol. Believe as you wish. So shall I. My experience is not yours and your's, not mine. Scientists deal in facts, not fiction and I'm grateful for that. I never said God was the God of the bible. For myself I do believe in a Source which is real to me. I can't explain that to someone who has never experienced it, but that doesn't make it less real for me. :o)

@TaylorX04 Moses said that he would bring out water from the rock, not that God would, so he was punished for not attributing the miracle to God. The two accounts are not in conflict, as long as God says things twice a lot, just in case you don't hear the first time.

GREAT stuff. You and ProfMTH do a wonderful job with this subject.
None of these stories make too much sense unless you take it apart psychologically. What we see here is someone who had a connection with God but still doubted. It's not about seeing God physically it's about being taken care of and still doubting the Source doing it.

@Tonithenightowl Sure, that's one interpretation of it. But I'd criticize that just as much as the literal version. Why do we feel "taken care of," or think that there's a "Source" at all? Certainly not everyone is taken care of, nor does everyone feel connected to some vague mystical source.

@TaylorX04 Don't know about you, but I created nothing. Even Einstein believed this was not a crap shoot. You can only conceive what you can. I'm sure it's not all there is.

@Tonithenightowl Again, you're not really saying much of anything significant. I don't believe our current collection of information at this point in human history is all there is either, but this in no way means a god is likely. Einstein simply meant that the apparent randomness of the universe is only provisional - that scientists are justified in making predictions. Why don't you try conceiving in terms of probability instead of possibility?

Nice video, reminds me of one of ProfMTH's brief bible blunder videos.

Thanks. The format is admittedly inspired by his game show episodes.
