Love the cig. part. Webb fuckin' rocks.

His money is worth more than ours today. It still had a gold backing, with lower inflation.

Jack Webb just gave something away, I take it he was a Mason, as I am
2B1ASK1
-
he is the standard by wich all cops should try to be
-
he makes more than i do....

This show, this character, and Webb himself are so brilliant and iconic, yet younger generations don't recognize him. He's up there with James Dean and Marilyn Monroe if you ask me.
-
They should have named the Dragnet episodes "The Big Speech," part one, part two, part one ninety nine, etc. ... When me and my sister were kids back in the fifties and Dragnet would come one we played a game to see how long it would be before detective Joe Friday made another "wise crack." I used to roll on the floor in make believe agony every time he did it.
-
somebody turn Joe Friday loose on Andy Dick!!!
-
integration by a cop with O.C.D.
-
widows and orphans. oh please.

@jopen560 LOL

Before The Loose Cannons you have today. There was By the Books Joe Friday. He sure showed a hell of a lot more results the way he did things.
Hi OhioFan1989 have this in the mail coming from Amazon US to me in the UK, looking forward to it, had no idea Amazon was offering this as a made to order DVD-R.
And I agree about the Shout Factory S2 set bloody brilliant, they even replaced my Disc 1 because of it missing the start which you probably know about!
I assume you are on the Dragnet Yahoo Group?
Cheers

@remlap Hey Patrick from the UK! I just found out about this being on Amazon also and will be ordering it in the next few days. I am indeed in the Dragnet Yahoo Group and actually worked on the 1968 release. (I was a production consultant on the Jack Webb "The Man Behind The Badge" featurette.)
Shout Factory is an awesome company to work with!

ohiofan, thanks for posting the Jack Webb clips. Love this one...the man left a great legacy and his career shows both the police and the Marines in the best light. I believe he was given a police funeral when he died. Gonna go catch an episode of "Dragnet" right now...thanks again!

@photomonkey14 - No problem and if you are a Dragnet fan, don't forget to order
Dragnet 1968. It will be available sometime in July and I know from personal
experience that the distribution company went out of their way to put together
a great set.
