If you really want to get some good footage then I wouldn't go for this camera. In my experience, if you film more than two gigs in one go it distorts. Best to spend good money on good quality. Not denying this being a good camera, I just don't want to recommend something that may have visual and audio errors when you're out their looking at a Cheetah.

Well i'm currently looking at a cheap HD camera (720p at least) to take with me on an expedition this year in South Africa....
I would love to buy this due to the optical zoom, but the Flip Ultra HD is tempting me..
What do you think?

It's a good camera but I've had my fair share of errors with it to be fair. Distorted audio being the biggest. If you go to my favourites and find "Pillowman Episode One Remake" It's a test of the camera, we us to do a show and did a remake of it in that sense. More to test it for future products.

Amazing quality dude. For the price of this camera, i love the shitty reviews some people give it..make me laugh
