  • Thanks for posting this wonderful film. My hope is it will remain here as it is important for future generations to see how courageous and gifted players like Bert Jones and Larry Brown (Redskins) were in their day. If not for the physical punishment they absorbed each game, I'm certain these guys would have enjoyed longer careers and had places in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

  • Bert was Elway before Elway. Sucks he had injury problems...Roger Carr was a badass as well! A Raider fan gives cheers to this great footage...I give respect where it is due.

  • Great video, thanks for posting. These highlights weren't on 24/7 back then like todays ESPN. I haven't seen some of this stuff since I was a kid. Bert Jones is my favorite player of all time. I remember wearing my Colts #7 jersey in the back yard playing out all of these imaginary games. The Colts never lost! I'm biased but I believe his arm would rival anyones playing today.

  • Just a response to some of the older comments on here. As far as Bert's overall talent, don't take it from just an ordinary fan like me --- Joe Namath was quoted as saying in the mid-70's that Jones was in a class by himself. He had 3 GREAT years, not good ones. Totally unfortunate that injuries limited him to really only 6 full seasons. He did play well in the 1975 playoff game against Pittsburgh although he missed half of that game with an injury, but did not play well in '76 or '77.

  • @Crazyriders07 mike vick takes like 10-15 yard drops often

  • @propvalgroup That's not very mature of you at all.

I've seen plenty of footage of the guy, and forgive me but that's the only way someone under 50 is gonna be able to judge him.

  • @TheTruthfulAsshole

You're a jackass. You know nothing of the Baltimore Colts and Bert Jones or his play at LSU.

if you watched him play and not just on youtube maybe you would know something, instead of knowing shit.

    Idiot.

  • @Crazyriders07

the p*ssy QB's of today slide. You see Jones tumblin' diving? he had stones, he had integrity. Not like todays p*ssys, except Favre maybe.Bert was the MAN. One of the best ever in the NFL. He didn't play long enough to be recognized as one of the best ever. But rest assured, he was.

  • @palkianaruto You weren't even born when Jones was playing, so what the fuck do you know. Shut the fuck up.

Oh, and another thing. Lose some fucking weight, will you?

  • Man, talk about a team that underachieved. And all of their inability to get to the Super Bowl can be laid at the feet of Ted Marchibroda.
