  • they seriously had an all star squad around those years... wallace, stoudamire, smith, pippen, sabonis, wells was decent, and jermaine o neal on the bench lol even tho he didnt blow up yet

  • Jermaine didn't blow up until a certain game against the Pistons when he blind side sucker punched an innocent fan.

  • Innocent fan? Whatever.

  • If you remember, the fan he hit hadn't done anything, his friend is the one who got into it with Artest.

  • You had awesome talent, but it never meshed together and when u guys played us u were always on edge..Sheed, throwing the towel in Sabonis face, Pippen throwing towels in the hall, countless other outburts lol. Blazers were no match for the Lakers once it came to winning time..

  • Sorry, I accidentilly deleted your response to my response. Anyway you said the Blazers lacked maturity to win a world title.. I doubt that was it, sure Rasheed was and still is a hothead, but you can't say Kobe and Shaq had the maturity it takes to win a title either. I don't think maturity has anything to do with the Lakers being dominant. It was because you had Shaq. Giant, dominant centers win titles. Bring on Oden:)

  • @Knightmare2k6 with the NBA in it's current form, it'll be a miracle for small market Portland to win a title. Especially with the NBA losing so much money last season. it's gonna be a big-market Texas team vs Miami or a northeast team, regardless of whether they're the best or not

2000 would have been the year. the Blazers were the best team that season and the Lakers were the only team that could contend

  • @rspivey6 I don't think Lakers had any trouble taking care of the Pacers either. Now you Blazers got nothing to build on and absolutely no chance at winning a title, am I wrong?

  • if kobe had not diarroehaed all over

  • you should be proud of the blazers today...they exceeded expectations and they are a group of guys all blazer fans should be proud of

  • its ok, the lakers choked away in the finals last year. i guess talking about something that happened 9 or so years ago makes them feel better. its contradicting. these laker fans are the same ones who talk SHT about shaq now. Laker fans seem to have some really strange way of arguing. nothing is logical from what ive seen. portland will be better than the lakers in a couple years and i really cant wait.

  • ah yes. my first blazer game, good times good times

  • If Sabonis was in his prime they would have won.

  • we'll see who owns who in a few years with the best young talent we have now? good luck

  • The Blazers should've won the NBA title the year before if they hadn't given Game 7 away to those damn Lakers. They would've had no problem taking care of the Pacers.

  • "Pippen throwing towels in the hall.." WTF? he was frustrated that they gave the game away to the Lakers. There wasnt anything wrong with that. Rasheed was unstable, granted, but even given that, the Blazers remember came back from being down 3-1, to being up 15 points in the 4th quarter of Game 7. No, we didn't win. Yes, the Lakers were the better team. But the Blazers, "no match" for the Lakers? hardly. yall were minutes away from blowing a 3-1 lead, a gigantic playoff choke.
