My wife riding her VStar 1100

This is my wife having fun. It was on October 29th 2008. We got up and it was 42 degrees out hear near Orlando Fl. We started riding at around 10 am and it was 50 degree but got up to 68 later. She is really ecstatic about riding let me tell you. She took a riders course in August '08 and is crazy about her first bike. It's a Yamaha V-Star 1100 with Vance & Hines pipes and is louder than the stock pipes on my Honda VTX 1300. But not for long.......! I got My V&H pipes today! Stay tuned!

I way 150lbs and have never ridden a motorcycle in my life. A vstar 1100 is the only one I have available to ride, how do I learn to ride it without crashing it.

Good lord - Please take some type of instructional course! Don't try to teach yourself. In Florida it is now mandatory to take a riding course to get you endorsement on your license. There are great profesional I structors out there. My wife never rode either but within the first day she was riding great. I have been at it over 35 years and on the road test she scored better than I did. GO TO THE PROFESIONALS! You'll be glad you did. I am.

Are all the courses part of licenses or do you have to pay for them? If it was my bike I wouldnt really care, but Its not, its someone elses bike and I don't want to drop it.

Where I live in Orlando you do have to pay. It was $195 each, However - you can't put a price on your life! For my wife's sake, it was the best money I ever spent. Believe me, I have seen people that were not trained get very hurt in the past because the did not FULLY understand all the controls. I made a deal with my wife that I would NOT train her. Profesional instruction only or it as no deal. You'll be glad you got it from a pro. She looks back and thinks it was a great move :)

Did they have bikes there that she trained on?

Absolutely! They supplied e erything. We had to show up in long pants, long sleeves, and a shoe that went to the anckle but not sneekers. They provided the rest.
