Pictures Online digitisation project

Pictures Online is a large-scale digitisation project being run by the National Library of New Zealand. This initiative will add to the preservation work completed to date and will add to the 70,000 images that have already been preserved in perpetuity and are accessible online.

There are over 4.9 million photographs and negatives held in the Alexander Turnbull Library that capture moments in New Zealand and Pacific history and that show lives once-led.

As the photographs are digitised they will be showcased online through the Library's digital collection websites.

@Becnappy09 The staff at Pictures Online have been trained to capture, edit and crop the images. As many staff in the team did not have previous photographic or Photoshop experience, they were trained to capture the image effectively with the camera (correct exposure) so only a small amount of adjustment was required in Photoshop. The use of levels in Photoshop is emphasised to help with an objective assessment of exposure.

@Becnappy09 you're right.. fast is surely not the right adjective.. i'd have spend more on auto-events (not just hotkeys damn....) and automatization all with something like slide stream pro.. the game isn't worth the candle
