  • I'm glad that you put the annotation about how these "coins" are not made by the US mint, but instead by companies that want to cash in on the 9/11 tragedy and consumer ignorance. These so called "coins" are not worth ANYTHING! they are silver PLATED!

I wanted to ask now that the US mint is making an official 9/11 commemorative medal made of 1 oz of pure silver (not plated) what do you think of them?

  • @USCRASHFIRE The same feeling applies to the US government if the coin isn't meant for genuine circulation and just to sell. I have no problem with people trying to make a profit, but when they do and pass it off as if they're just trying to commemorate some tragedy that they can leech from, I have a problem with it.

  • meh, if i'm getting the video right after ... 45 seconds? roughly this is basically along the same line as the question "Why the fuck do we place value on shiny rocks (aka GOLD, Silver, etc..)?" and is ultimately a meaningless question.

Why is this meaningless? Because value isn't necessarily always monitary. Obviously with gold it is. But pictures?who the hell wants a picture It's a piece of paper with colors in a particular pattern.People take and keep pictures for memory. Just like the coins

  • @misterhamster90 You missed the point then, which was that attempting to profit off of a tragic event by "selling patriotism" as seen here is something I consider volatile.

  • @GrapplingIgnorance The Background is white. And this effect is done to maintain my anonymity.

  • You deserve more subscribers.

  • @Jaisears1 Thank you. I can't really controll it. I just concern myself with those who are here.

  • I was thinking of selling buckets of dehydrated water. I was going to price them at $40 but for this limited time ill give them to you for 39.99! They are easy to use, if you are stuck in the desert and need a light weight bucket of water to carry then this product is for you! Assembly is simple that even a child could use them simply remove the top when you need water, add water and presto you will have a bucket of water! Order now a strict limit of 5 per customer!

  • "New! For people who need to show off that they have the biggest Ameridick: The 9/11 silver golden Sacagawea dollar! This strikinf relief features Native American historical figure Sacagawea as she may have been if she lived during the 9/11 attacks, bravely guiding people out of the Twin Towers before they fell after the terrorist attacks of 9/11! 9/11! AMURICAAAAAA!"

  • One thing, Non-circulating currency means it is a commemorative thing,

like a commemorative stamp or something along those lines.

That aside I am 100% on board with your opinion.

  • Grab your barf bag bag because they now actually have a coin commemorating the military operation that killed Osama Bin Ladin. How fucking tacky can you get?!

  • @Reip187 Just look at the 9/11 Cross that the American Atheist want removed from the ground zero location. The church less than a block away sells rosaries, lapel pins, and all kinds of trinkets relating to that cross. It is a cross beam. Blessed by religious morons and they are making money off of THAT.

  • I've always felt this way about tragedies. It has been going on for 9/11 since 9/12/2001. My mind works like some of these leeches as a small business sort so I know how they think. Tragedies are an easy money maker. Patriotism is as powerful as religion. I remember "Terrorist Hunting Permits" from after the tragedy with "9112001" as the tag #. It's opportunity and there is opportunity to make money in tragedy. Ethically, or morally repugnant? Certainly but demand pays. NO DIFFERENT than Godcrap

  • @GrapplingIgnorance I would agree with you if the US mint was pocketing the profits but it says on the mint's website, "Sales include a $10 surcharge per medal, authorized to be paid to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum to support its operations and maintenance after completion." so profits go to a good purpose. and even though its not for circulation it is 1 OUNCE of pure silver. meaning that it is worth what you pay for it and it will be worth more because of silvers rising price.

  • @taffysaur ha...frankly. I see what you did there.

  • I buy them in hopes that they will increase in value. It's like buying bullion.

  • i wonder when they'll bring out the coins made from the gold teeth of people killed in the jewish holocaust? i'm hanging out for that one, frankly.
