Shawn, can you provide some tips on chipping with longer clubs? I like to use my 7 and 6 iron, depending how much roll out i want, but the length of the club is throwing me off as far as the setup you recommend here...Thanks!

@clemshaw shawn, completely unrelated. I am a long time fan of yours. Only critique I have is that you do not show us EVER which clubs you are using in your videos! It would be nice if you could not only tell us which club you're using for any given video, but maybe even go "deeper into the rabbit hole" and show a long mid and short iron in same cases just to show the different plane angles for different clubs. No word of a lie I'm 100% visual. I can learn just by watching!

is that a falcon shawn?

@clemshaw On a chip, I assume the focus is still on the target, as in the full swing? Is there any difference in your focus between the chip and full swing? Absolutely love your videos and products.

@wadesworld2112 Yes, in the full swing I am focused on the flight of the ball; where is it going to start and where it is going to end...In chipping, you look for the where you are going to land and then figure out which club you need that will allow the ball to roll, take the break and fall into the hole; when over the ball, you are focused on how much momentum you need to drop the ball on that spot. Sean, What do you think of Phil mickelson's hinge and hold?
Halloroj 8 months ago
@Halloroj It amounts to the same thing basically; he presses forward a bit, then hinges a bit more and comes back with lower case Y; I start and stay with lower case Y; if you overdo the hinge and hold, you change the low point of the swing and then you need to manipulate the swing to make up for the difference; Shawn
