It's good that people can be hateful and vile. I get the impression that those who are genuinely venomous on "da interwebs" take it all far too seriously, so it becomes an almost territorial issue rather an academic one (almost as if by vouchsafing an opinion they dislike you are encroaching on their territory, and it must be defended). either that or they're just cocks :) .
