The Maldives are located south west of India in the Indian Ocean, and are a group of islands formed from coral. There are actually over 1200 islands (lots of surf potential then!). The Maldives experience a similar surf season to that of Indonesia, and has the same surfing season.

Sorry, Egomassuer that you live such a decrepit lifestyle of pessimism. I am going to the Maldives, I live in China, I have been to Burma. I have been lucky enough to voice my opinion, but only it is only back by the understanding that I have had first hand experience in these places. Live life so that you may educate others, but don't stop doing something you love because of the reservations of the minority. Ego good luck with your fight, have you left your country lately? Maldives or bust.

hey egomasseur... take life by the horns... if you want to go go.. hell im going to probally work their for awhile flying for maldivian air taxi if things go as planned... do i hold any reservations of going... not at all.. carpe diem
