This election year, the radical right is back. The Republican base is energized by the extreme right-wing views of Sarah Palin, and the separation between church and state is among the top of their targets.
Chris Smith is arguable the worst member of congress on this issue, and has voted for legislation on many occasions that would tear down the separation between church and state.
holy shit i hope you won, because if that other guy won thats one we might as well say "fuck science." to hell with biology and viruses evolving! people who are sick, dying and hungry just didnt pray enough!

I think its ironic that republicans are blaming the democrats for ignoring the constitution. Last time i checked sep of church and state was in the constitution. contradicting huh? Personally this country should be run strictly by the constitution. Were there weapons of mass destruction in the late 1700's? The amount of change is overwhelming and some parts of the constitution need to be ignored.

If the left cares so much about getting religion out of everything, why don't they start with Islam?

The radical right wants to destroy everything this country's founding fathers believed in was necessary to have a well-functioning civil society and healthy democracy. They won't stop until we have a religious and fascist state. They have to be stopped. Vote them out!
