HAVE YOU BEEN HARMED BY EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTIONS OF DEPO-MEDROL?

(Please note: If you are having trouble seeing all the text after clicking (show more), place your mouse here, click and hold as you pull down to reveal all the text. Thank you.)

Despite numerous Med-Watch reports to the FDA of severe medical events, and a well documented poor efficacy record, Depo-Medrol sadly remains the industry standard of care for spinal related pain. How a drug that is neither FDA approved nor recommended by its manufacturer for epidural administration can continue to be used off label by pain specialists, injecting it into patients who have not been informed of the true risks, defies all logic and flies in the face of their Hippocratic Oath.

It's time for the FDA to reopen this controversy and explain why Depo-Medrol is only contraindicated for intrathecal injection and not epidural injection despite the fact that they both carry the same dangerous risks listed in the drug's package insert. Let's finally end the pain and damage it has caused and contraindicate Depo-Medrol for both routes of administration.

The EDNC is a grass roots advocacy group comprised mostly of victims who strongly believe they were seriously harmed by the off-label epidural administration of Depo-Medrol and other similar steroid suspensions.

This video was produced in 1995 in England by Granada-TV for *The World In Action* series. It clearly depicts the controversy that has plagued those who have suffered severely as a result of this unlicensed treatment. Please allow me to apologize for the poor video and audio quality. Nonetheless, the message therein is loud and clear.

Depo-Medrol and Depo-Medrone are identical steroid suspensions. The latter was marketed primarily overseas.

Our sincerest thanks to the producers and all those involved in the making of this film.

There are 4 brand new videos in production. Please remember to come back. Thanks...

  • There are 4 more new informative videos currently in production. Please have patience. Thank you.

  • Please read the links provided at the very bottom of the video's description.

  • Yes!! It caused me to have Stage 3 Adhesive Arachnoiditis.

  • @tlatpeace Very sorry to hear this tlatpeace... How long ago did this happen? Is it clinically significant, another words, was it professionally diagnosed through imaging by a board certified neuroradiologist? How are you now?

  • Sadly, DepoMedrol is still being used by careless doctors who don't bother to look at the latest data.

  • Pharmicia/Upjohn was purchased by Pfizer. At the time of purchase, their legal dept was very concerned about their assumed liability with DepoMedrol.

  • @EndDepoNowCampaign - Thank you. In 1997. Yes it was professionally diagnosed in 2011. I live daily with major pain and neuro deficits. I had more surgeries after that time, not knowing that I had it. Which of course caused the Arachnoiditis to escalate and come out of hiding.

  • The video was made in 1995. No there is not a class action at this time

  • And is there another class suit ?

  • How old is the video? Is upjohn still manufacturing it and is it still allowed to be distributed today? Or is there another manufacturer distributing it?
