I use it and it is accurate. If it isn't then you have a cheap microphone. The one I have on my desktop is probably a good one. It sounds a lot better than the built in one on my notebook. The Windows Vista on my notebook has a hard time understanding me with the built in one.

@spicyfart101 It is free with Windows Vista and Windows 7. I think the older version of MIcrosoft Office come with it.
