The people of Dare County and Hatteras Island have been forced to live under "consent decree". As a result, homes and businesses and families are being destroyed. The private property rights and civil liberties of all Americans are being taken away under false pretenses. The Park Service has shot and killed all of our red foxes as well as opossums, squirrels, raccoons, crabs and even our pet dogs and cats. Our National Seashore was created with land donated to the government by private land owners under the stipulation that the public would never be prohibiting from accessing the beach. Demand that the Federal Government keeps it promise and returns our National Seashore back to the American Public. Demand the protection of all animals, not just the endangered and protected ones, from these so called environmental groups. Are there any of you out there who think that it's OK to kill thousands of geese, foxes and raccoons to save one nest of piping plovers? Does this make sense to anyone? Call the National Parks Service and demand that they end predator control, stop destroying the natural beauty and wildlife of Cape Hatteras and return the National Seashore and Recreation area back to its rightful owners, the American People.

  • To protect 8 birds, the N.P.S. has systematically destroyed hundreds of animals that "may" Predate upon the protected birds. Just another example of mans' arrogance in believing he can "manage" a habitat. When a species is decimated for the protection of another, the law of unintended consequenses is about to bite you on your collective butts.
