OMG, lame... sit an listen for an answer while rotating the dial of any radio... lame.

I found by snipping the mute wire in 2 places and removing a large section of it, it would not stop.

I am having problems with bleed through on mine on FM I can hear one station and also the "sweep". On my AM it seems to broadcast one station a lot longer then it should while sweeping. Also mine stops scanning sometimes, which is annoying because sometimes it is when I think someone is trying to answer a question I just asked, it is stopped and I have to push the button again. Any help would be appreciated. I just made mine today, and already I hear people speaking to me. Thanks!

How did you hack the 12-820? I am getting a radio shack 12-469 going to tri that but can you give me tips on how to modify 12-820? Thanks...Vicki
