How to make an awesome image in Gimp. I know I said I would show you how to put someone that missed a picture into another picture, but the concept is the same. Here is then pencil I used:

  • very good work!! just one little thing. You REALLY have to stop sucking your teeth or smacking your lips....that is the most annoying sound!!! you do it through the whole video, it is very distracting.

  • very well done young man.. i'm just starting with gimp and enjoy it thus far.. sometimes it van be a brute tho. lolz.. my only negative about this vid is perhaps maybe not so many pics of yourself to manipulate through.. then you wouldn't have to machine gun fire through the directions. i can see me now having to watch this vid many many times to grasp everything you mentioned. nevertheless.. good job. :)

  • Well done

  • Select>invert>edit>cut! there you go

  • lol@comment are you going to show your face

  • @suckittomcat the reason he didn't do that is so he can show how you would do it if you needed to or wanted to

  • The sketch would have been much easier if you had just sketched the image by hand before taking the photo of the paper. You could also have printed the sketch on the paper from the computer. But not bad job. To match colors saturation and tonal balance, use the background image for samples. Also use histogram to create good tonal range. When posing for the pencil grip, you can make it easier by actually holding a cardboard tube so that your hand positions will be very precise. You're very good!

  • Good trick for creating the shadow. Next time anchor the shadow closer to the source. The feet of the shadow should not show much.

  • Masking will work better BEFORE shrinking the photos.

  • You did an ok job. I would not have used the boy on the left as it appears to have been taken with a flash so the lighting is different. The pencil has no shadow and the other shadows are not quite on the mark. Masking looks a little ragged but not terrible. Good concept and fun result.
