@THEMINDSHAFT Can you name the parts here? I am looking at using a microcontroller to control the application of pressure to a hydraulic cylinder (brake application). I just don't know what these things are called. You've got some manner of valve and then that cylinder thing with the rod coming out... is all that the valve or is there more? thanks in advance...

@THEMINDSHAFT do you think you can explain a little more how you got it to work this accurately?
-
are you controlling the position or just the speed?
-
@smkatb well the board is what all the devices are fastend to and thr blue thing with the black wires and pbc connection i think is the battery because this is a display
-
SMC makes these now with 0-10V input output for pos and feedback. Avail summer 2011.

i can't keep up with technology anymore this is driving me nuts.

im lookin for a linear actuator that pushes less than a 1\4 of a pound and is cheap.please help me!
Both speed and position are being controlled. Very accurate as well.

it's all off the shelf stuff. The valve and servo controller are made by Enfield Tech. Several companies make pneumatic actuators with the feedback resistor built in. A little "puck" on the end with 3 wires coming out. The parts ain't cheep though. your looking at a little over $1500.00 in what you see in the vid..
