Montana family tackles the north islands Tongariro Alpine Crossing. 19.4 km in one day included active volcanoes, deep snow and loads of fun. Big day of tramping (hiking) for 10 year old Ellie and 13 year old Alex. Epic trip!

Must be an awesome walk. We really wanted to try this one ourselves but unfortunately when we were on the North Island, this area was covered in mist for several days and galeforce winds prevented us from going up. Still nice to get an idea of what could have been... maybe next time!
