This is St. Barth's, a French Island in the North East Caribbean. The runway is 2000ft long and ends in the ocean. Very fun.

  • Yeah it was pilot error. What I heard was that the pilot mistaked the direction of the throttles. As in he pull the power off think it was power up. Thats becuase the throttles are on the overhead and are in reverse.

  • great videos buddy, flew you guys in 2003 SXM-SBH and back, fun stuff

  • yeah... i remember, with the beech over took the runway and nearly ended up in the drink huh? could be a diff one

  • Bad crash a few years ago here.

  • Hell what terrain ahead of the RWY. Steeeep

  • 1000´-point? But very smooth indeed.

  • That sounds as exciting as the old Kai Tak airport and some of those Nepalese airports. I'll check it out on FS in a Q400. Thanks!

  • Try Paro (VQPR) in an A319 or 737. The real airline that flys there (Drukair) operates 2 A319's to this airport on RPT utilizing a visual "breakout" procedure, then flying visually down a gorge with a few random turns, finishing with a touchdown about 20 seconds after lining up.

  • Very smoth landing!!!

  • SABA and St. Barth's have the coolest, trickiest approaches besides Lukla. Even though all I fly is Flight Simulator 2004, it's still a white-knuckle ride down. Excellent piloting in real life!
