I miss it too...I was fortunate to see both versions (the first with The Ballad of Billy mcCaw, then the second where Growltiger's Last Stand was used in place of Billy). I have to admit I love Growltiger's piece out of the two. -^..^-

Who is Gus?

i have only seen webbers verson with jacob brent and john partridge on vhs so stuff was cut out...sigh... i like this song though but my favorite would prably be mr.mistoffelees song ^ ^

This is definitely my favorite version of Growltiger's Last Stand. Although I like "In Una Teppi Da Notte", and I agree it fits into the rest of the song better, I really like Billy McCaw.

i like the reworked "Ballad Of Billy McCaw" it has the style of the original version, yet the big finish you previously only heard from "In Una Teppi Da Notte"

Everybody hates this part because "it wasn't in the original". Well if Andrew Loyd Webber thought it was neccesary to include it later on, then it's fine! I find this scene entertaining, and should belong in cats.

LOVE THIS SONG!!!

I think Lloyd Webber prefers Billy M'caw because the Puccini family sued his ass over his plagarism of La Fanciulla del West. He did it in Phantom too. It's kinda fun to go to a pre-opera performance lecture and listen to both Puccini and Lloyd Webber side by side. Very fun stuff!

Although I know that you must have enjoyed this wonderful performance of the Growltiger sequence, I thought that it works better with the Puccini parody, In una tepida notte. I humbly respect Andrew Lloyd-Webber's preference for the Ballad of Billy M'Caw, but I've felt that perhaps Billy M'Caw tends to drag the scene. The Puccini parody fits better into the Growltiger sequence, being itself a slight alteration of the "Peaceful summer night' sequence.
I no! It's so amazing! Just nothing else compares! Hope you enjoyed this ^^
