Thank you Teresa - I always look for your crochet instructions. I tell everyone who wants to crochet to go to you, as you are the guru!! I have crocheted a long time and this will save some time. Although there are some patterns that require different stitches across the foundation chain, like 5 sc, then 9 hdc, then 11 dc, then 9 hdc and then 5 sc. I think the no chain foundation would be to confusing to do this project. Thanks as always - slow motion the best!! :>

Excellent video - much better than a foundation chain. I need to know how to extend a piece. I'm crocheting a hooded jacket for my tiny dog and began at the bottom. I'm ready to encircle her belly. I started after a row of single crochet with a foundation single crochet, but it didn't look quite right when I left the main piece. Then when I wanted to reconnect to join into a circle, I tried to single crochet in the first stitch around, but it was weak. Doesn't look right. Thanks for any help.

I am not quite sure that I understand what you are doing. You can extend working this stitch. When you get to the other side, you will sew the bottom part of your stitch to the bottom to attach the two pieces together.

You can substitute this technique instead of using the chain

Sure wish I would have known about this technique sooner as I am not that fond of

doing those long start chains! I have been crocheting for longer than I care to say

and I am just running into a pattern calling for this. Thanks very much for this video.

Oh Teresa. I wanted to try something different when making my baby blankets. I get so tired of the same old chain. I happened to google chainless sc, and there your were. Now I can make my blankets without that boring same chain. Thank you. This chainless foundation will make a beautiful beginning to blankets.

Thank you for such great instructions! I used an fsc to start a top I made several months ago and by now completely forgot how to do it. Your video got me going in just a few minutes, I especially appreciated the slow-motion bits. Thanks again!
