@AtopaMesa, I just bought this record on ebay as well. Takes a long time to get it because the record comes from new zealand and I live in the Netherlands. :-) But it's worth the wait!

After a few listens and reminiscing my youth, all the whilst the quality still blowing my mind. it dawned on me how raw... true music was and shuddered at the thought of what many a modern so called artist's truth laid down on valve's and such, then pressed would sound like! Did i say say great post, Tribute even?

buddy holly was listening to hismusic 5yrs into my teen years. he had already passed. peggy sue oh boy . as history repeats itself, those days will never come back im 66 but still remember his music. it makes me young again aswas his music.

sounds really good for a 78! 78s usually have a hiss to them. This is great. thanx.

actually lehnerd, the last year that most companies commercially produced 78's was 1957 as 45's started to out sell them in 1955. However a few companies stayed to late 58 or 59. Columbia made a special exception for "It's not for me to say" on Columbia.

the last mass produced 78s in the uk were pressed up in 1960, i have a few of them.

@Cheapbeatlewhore In the US they continued to produce kiddie records at 78 rpm into the 60s.

@beautman1 there are a few artists in the 70s and 80s that issued them too here in the uk the most famous one was mccartney pressing up repros of his 1958/9 beatle acetate
