@MikeDeegan86 well im 100% sure that the six counties can go whatever way they want to go in the near future. and a united ireland may not be all that important. i also believe the ira stopped the hordes of loyalist mobs from chasing us over the border 40 years ago. Mountbatten stood for the aristocracy as do all the royals, there ancestors prospered by bleeding our country and its people dry and every other country they invaded. when ireland is at war with britain there aristocracy will suffer

@shanetheboy1 I'm with you fella, but still - once you start purposefully killing innocents you lose the moral high ground. Before that era of IRA violence, many of the Brits - even old Mountbatten was in favour of some of what Sinn Fein were proposing, he was also well liked by the Irish Catholics. If the IRA had conducted themselves with more decency I believe that there'd have been a better long term result/prospects at reclaiming the northern counties...

@TheRoyalSnail the argentinians only put up a small show the real show will be happenin in the not so distant future. the ira killed more of your soldiers than you did to ours, and finally in 1997 your government gave up. anyway you english are a pack o wogs

@MikeDeegan86 there are always gonna be casualties of war. any innocent people killed by the IRA was accidental, there was the incident in kingsmills which was out of order but what do ye expect when the huns had people like the shankill butchers running about.

Whilst I am a proud Irish Republican Nationalist, I can't condone the bombing of innocent citizens. For me that is where the IRA lost the plot; to attack the Brits for the same crimes that we were and are opposed to, as an oppressed people; the same crimes that were inflicted on generations of my family is just mad. The IRA should have just targeted military, political and economic infrastructure.
I'd have liked to have seen a documentary on the troubles that wasn't bias too.

@sabrefox2004 civil rights, the ruc disbanded, the army almost completely withdrawn and the implementation of the good friday agreement, none of those would have happened without the ira's campaign

The IRA are unreal. some people join the army for a wage but the volunteers do it for free, out of passion. a bit like the GAA vs professional sport. its hard for foreigners to understand the Irish buzz but us Irish know we are a special people. God's children i reckon.
