I understand the whole lone wolf/warrior bit, but how can someone fight for no reason. He's trying to discover why he fights. Trying to seek out some reason in the whole thing other than this is all I know. Ken should be that Character that helps him find his answer. Ken fights for the sake of those he cares for, because he has a life and knows how to value it. Ryu wants to be peaceful meditated fist face, yet he seeks to become stronger. This is why he struggles internally. No direction.

I think that Ken also has the potential for the Satsui no Hadou, and since Ryu had the Satsui no Hadou sealed off by Gouken in SF4, Ryu has to find something else to struggle with.

Gouken didn't seal it off. He's not Naruto. Gouken just defeated it with the power of nothingness. Satsui no Hadou is a technique that takes in the aid of the Demons by trying to tap into destructive power using vain thoughts and meditations set on winning with a disregard of the well being of the opponent. Malice, Rage, blood lust, despiration, self glorification, etc. Ryu has to not allow the battle to consume him, but enjoy the martial art in the battle like Ken.

Ken enjoys the fight and likes to test his metal against Ryu. If he fights serious it most likely wont b against him. They just spar 2 show off progression and technique. He's a happy guy who feels rich at heart because of the friends and family that makes him feel wealthy. He doesn't even care about the money. He likes 2 fight n loves his wife. There is no need to search for more power within your fist if life doesn't demand that you become stronger. Thus we've yet to c his true power unveiled.
