Far Cry 2 (PS3) Gameplay

This is just footage of the gameplay in the PS3 version of Far Cry 2. I just recently bought this game. It's not too bad really, but I liked the original better. I'm not even sure why Ubi put the Far Cry Name on this except for brand recognition.

The game is, as you can see, a sandbox FPS game. If you like sanbox games, and you like FPS games, check this one out. It's not for everyone, and just looking at the mixed user reviews on gamefaqs will testify to that.

However, if you're sand-boxed out, this won't do anything for you.


As per usual, the PS3 doesn't like my capture card much, so it's a little blurrier than it should be. I guess it's my standard def capture card, and my standard def display. I don't really card about HD one way or the other. I know people will tell me every excuse under the sun as to why I need an HDTV, but considering that my gaming tastes are still last gen and before, I really don't play current gen systems enough to justify a purchase. Besides, the money I'd spend on one could be spent better elsewhere. My current TV ain't broke, so I see no need to fix it. better clarity or not.

things i dont like about this game

1st - enemies are like "terminators". they are a pain in the ass to take down unless given a headshot.

2nd - the spawning of checkpoints.

i would go with just cause 2. crazy stunts and a varied as well as massive map make it the better buy.

Ive rented this back in 2009 and now i got it free in the psn store :D Ive played all FarCrys but for rhe very first one. i think farcry instincs evolution is the best, and i love the predator attacks(: i hope farcry3 has predator again!!

@megarckid yea i like a third perso aka just cause 2 over an first perso aka farcry 2. maybe i not say correc.. if it open-world shooting game.. i like it to be third person view mo than first perso view. jus caus 2 is outdoor theme jus like farcry except third person view and more action of varieties aisde from running and shooting

but anyway i not so much a single player gamer. i play farcry 2 for online player versus player. but if let me choose single player.. just cause 2 over farcry 2

jus play ps3 version n expect online multiplayer to be dead like pc but i was wrong! turns out it was very alive! i find a match every time instantly!

it feels like mid-classic fps like 2002-2005 game. to melee u have to pull the knife out.. not very handy in a tight situatio wher u must melee quick. modern fps is jus a press of button n do melee. im not a fan of fps but i play several fps.. the aiming is hard in dis game dono y. art style is too triagle. kilzon is circle. lik da outdoor theme
