Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been known for his vast charitable donations. On May 19, 2007, he announced plans to give $US100m to set up the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, an educational foundation in the Middle East, one of the largest charitable donations in history.[13] Sheikh Mohammed stated that the money is meant to bridge the knowledge gap between the Arab region and the developed world, improving the standard of education and research in the region, developing leadership programs for youth, and stimulating job creation. The announcement was made at the 2007 World Economic Forum in Jordan.
One of the Foundation's key initiatives is Bayt Ul Hikma۔
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum (born November 13, 1982)[1] is the Crown Prince of Dubai and the second eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan began his schooling in Dubai at the Rashid Private School and then continued his studies in the United Kingdom.[2] There, he graduated from Sandhurst and later attended the London School of Economics.[1] He was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council in September 2006.[1] He also is the head of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, and the president of the Dubai Sports Council and the Dubai Autism Centre.[2]

He is known for both his poetry and as a horse rider. His poems are mainly romantic, patriotic and about his family. He publishes his poems under the name Fazza [3] (فزاع).

He won the gold medal in Equestrian at the Asian Games.[2] Sheikh Hamdan also has a passion for cars, including Mercedes Benz, Jeeps used for treading the deserts, Porsches and a Ferrari.

On 1 February 2008, Sheikh Mohammed appointed Sheikh Hamdan as the Crown Prince of Dubai. As the new Crown Prince, he has recently appointed new key personal and financial advisors such as global economist John Calverley and hedge fund tycoon James T. Naeem of HN Capital LLP.[1]

  • The most painful thing is sharing the same religious with these people who intellectually or physically in any way in the world will come together, but we'll meet in heaven:)) and we will live happily forever:)

  • but he must say, we have nothing other than oil, and we have become rich thanks to oil money, what do you except from us; science, art, culture, these are things only we can buy

so we're trying to gain respectability with buying soccer teams, building the tallest skyscraper smthng like stupid things...

you can not win respect if 800-meter skyscraper built in, but you can be the most respected people if you say true.

    my stomach turns

I don't know which country you are from, but if you go to Africa and live there you will discover that all the European countries are the reason why Africa is in such a bad position. Sheikh Mohammad's duty is to support his own people and his own country it's not his duty to help every poor country; however, he has a foundation especially for the third world countries, my friend used to work in that foundation and she says that he sends millions of dollars every year.

  • @huntasif

Out of all the arabs and muslims, Sheikh Mohammad is probably the most who helps the arab and muslim world. Not only Emiratis benefit from his foundations.

He has also founded a campain called Dubai Cares, and that's to help third world countries. He helps a lot, but the officials in the other countries don't do their job with delivering the aid to the right people.

  • @acidee100

Yes, United Arab Emirates is a muslim country, though there are people from around the world that live there too; so you can find all sorts of religions and all religions are practiced freely.

  • @zubizarettaa

FYI: Dubai does not have oil, Dubai has built a strong financial center 20 years ago and from that they started building the city. They also depend on tourism.

  • Do people from United Arab Emirates are muslim? And do they believe in Islam????

  • I've been to Dubai many times and it is the most beautiful city in the world. The arab people are always polite and gracious, well in my experience anyway.
