The Old Spring House

This is the old spring house (or milk house as some call it) hid in the woods back behind our house. The first room with the small pool of water is where the spring water comes out, and the second room is where the water trickles through from the first room. Decades ago, this building was used for the refrigeration of milk. The structure is still in fairly good condition, but it has been deteriorating slowly as the years go by.

Did the spring have anything to do with cooling the milk, or did a spring just pop up after the building was built?

@DRWebster93 I believe it did have something to do with cooling it. Not too sure though I'd have to ask my uncle sometime as he grew up here.

spring houses were built over prings because the water kept things cool a great place to keep your milk and eggs my grand mom had a well house same idea
