Spirit Airlines Charging for Carry-On Luggage...

Don't blame the airlines. Blame the morons who couldn't follow the simple rule of ONE CARRY-ON PER PERSON.

these people are the reason all of us will now be paying $45 per carry-on bag. And I'm sure Spirit won't be the only ones doing this.

You hit the nail on the head. I'm sick and tired of having to check my bag because all these schmucks bring on the kitchen sink and board in zone 1 and 2, making the last half of the plane not be able to carry anything on.

the funniest thing is most idiots don't realise that EVERY airline charges for carry on bags they just don't itemize it. You see they include it in their prices and just make it one BIG price. So go ahead pay the extra $200 dollars on southwest or whatever airline but just remember you're still paying for that carry on

Actually, they are being smart. Douchebag travelers in an effort to avoid checking bags are coming on board with more and more baggage and trying to jam it into the compartments. This delays boarding and causes untold inconvenience to those passengers with sense enough to just bring small personal bags aboard. Traveling by Air is becoming worse than a Greyhound Bus full of Hillbillies. People are rude, act entitled and make trips miserable for everyone else on the Plane.

Spirit has optional charges, you're basically paying for things you want which is perfectly legal. not everyone has a carry on. Who is to say that you should get free luggage just when you purchase a ticket, your ticket gets you a seat on the plane.

I like that they charge for every little thing on the plane. It's the capitalist way of running a business. Giving all the stuff free is the socialist way of doing business.

What this means is that if I don't want to carry on a lot of luggage, or get a lot of food or entertainment, I'm not stuck paying for the other passengers that do want all that.

Airlines that include all those amenities charge more for the tickets than the ones that don't and YOU the sucker gets to pay for it all.
