@SymphonyofSorrow you know why all the viola jokes are so stupid? so that violinists could understand them;-)

This piece is pretty badass. My teacher is performing this in the fall because it's a Mendelssohn year. Definately doesn't get as much credit as it deserves.

I think it's a crime to post a recording on YouTube without acknowledging the performers... please post!

I know of a violist! :)

When the world gets too weird, this is one of recharging points.

Viola sonata? Best thing ever. Mendelssohn is forever now my hero.

@myb3ll3 I have not actually played this piece myself, but from the sound and from looking at the score, it's not an exceptionally hard piece. It's a lot of scales and a little bit of fast, tricky finger work, but it isn't anywhere near impossible to learn. I plan on playing this for a few performances this coming school year myself, so from one violist to another, good luck :-)

Mendelssohn is the most underrated of all classical composers. If only that damn Wedding March wasn't the only thing he's contributed to modern culture.

@SymphonyofSorrow ...As if they hadn't already.

Thank you so much for the upload! = )

Yeah, no problem! Spread the love to all viola enthusiasts, haha. I'm working on getting the 3rd movement up, but it's too long so I'll have to break it up into two parts.
