Henry Allingham was Britains last living WW1 soldier , he died last week aged 113 and this is the BBC news report of his funeral 30 July 2009...... Britains last surviving serviceman of WW1 is an ex member of the Royal Naval Air Service,living in Australia,aged 111.

  • can anyone add to the following...as of 31 July 2009, Britain has 1 surviving WW1 veteran, ex Royal naval Air service,living in Australia.....the USA has 4 surviving WW1 veterans...in 2008 Germany had 1 surviving WW1 veteran who had served in the trenches.

  • Harry Patch was the last surviving WWI veteran after Henry Allingham passed. Sadly, Harry Patch passed two weeks ago.

  • Harry Patch "s funeral is this coming Thursday.
