Bats Are Cool!

This is a California bat (Myotis californicus). They are one of the smallest bats in the United States. This one is about one month old and is doing very well in the care of the California Wildlife Center's, Rabies Vector Unit. Bats can sometimes carry rabies, so should only be handled by trained professionals. This one is so young that the need for gloves is not necessary.

@KymsPink59Cadi That's actually a eyeshadow applicator. Their food is put on it in drops and they suck it out of the applicator.

EXCELLENT FOOTAGE... Wow they are small little guys...I like that you had the little cute tip thingy for scale so we could see just how little he is...Same size as your thumb...WOW never seen one so small....good job Jonsier...
