I was a Crew Chief on F-15s and we did everything we could to keep birds away from the airfield to no avail. We had many bird strikes and let me tell you a Seagull can tear up an engine that costs several hundred thousand dollars.

@Maxid1 Cause jet engine blades go at close to the speed of sound, and blenders don't. Try to make something that can withstand a collision at close to the speed of sound. It's not that easy.

It would suck to be the passenger sitting next to the engine at 03:15. Imagine looking out and seeing that engine belching fire like that.

2:39 - "The sounds and the smell".. I think the only 'smell' from inside the cabin after a bird strike would be numerous passengers shitting their pants.
