Excellent recording Adam. It sounds like that 2001 has a alignment problem with the collecter rings but still a nice video.

It has nothing to do with batteries. The collector rings has alignment problems. As the burshes rub along the collector rings, the pitch of the siren tends to varie. 2001-130s aren't built right. As a matter of fact, there is a post on ARS proving that these are NOT 130dB at 100 feet.

They have those in Wilmington Ohio but with additional audio tones that sound like a giant ambulance.

Indianapolis is switching their entire system to 2001-130s, including their older 2001s.
