This argument just became farcical. Frankly, I`m dissappointed!

Theres a habit in america to call any kind of unaccompanied Irish singing sean nos. Sean nos to me is singing with a loose rhythm and spontaneous ornamentation. Luibins can be sung loosely and drawn out but the chorus rhythm is strict, and they are definitely in a different category than sean nos ballads.

Granted, a man could sing "Sweet Child of Mine" a`capella in Gaelic, totally rock out, and I think we`d agree that`s not Sean N-ós. I simply assumed ButterflyGoddessDru wasn`t referring to all the videos of that on youtube when she left her comment! And a luibin is not "another type of a' capella singing", it`s a particular style of song firmly rooted in the Sean N-ós tradition. Boo-yah

Not true Sean nos is only one form of a' capella Gaelic singing. Luibineach is another type of a' capella singing for example.

Tá an t-amhrán seo ar dlúthdhiosca agam agus níor mheall sé mórán dom nó gur chuala leagan Chárthaigh de. Maith thú!

His voice is beautiful. I just wish I could speak Gaelic so I'd know what he was saying haha.
I've been listening to every a' capella Gaelic song I can find, and each performer has the most incredible voice. Ireland should be very proud.
