Scott's 1st place snare drum solo at the 2010 Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Individual and Ensemble Competition in Rochester, NY on September 3rd, 2010. Scott is a member of Star United based out of Indianapolis, IN.
For those curious about my gear...
Drum: Pearl 14" FFXC in Emerald Mist finish with chrome hardware
Heads: Evans Hybrid Grey batter and MX5 snareside
Sticks: Innovative Percussion FS-PR2's
Shoes: Adidas Sambas, baby!

What's your take on where to end the taping on a stick? I see you have it done down to the fulcrum. Is it more of a preference thing?

@Snarician Totally a preference thing for sure. I've grown to like the feel of the sticks without tape from the fulcrum down. Actually, my real preference is no tape at all as the sound a great pair of sticks makes without tape is so much more full and resonant. It may only be a slight difference and only applies with certain grip techniques where you let the stick breath a little more. I only tape for the visual and durability aspect but have considered going natural.

@Sarge94187 I've been pretty busy the last several years so haven't taught lessons in a while but might be willing to pick up a student or two locally in the Central KY area.

Hooooooly sh*t! Your hands are so fast! I can't believe your technique--it's amazing. Do you play drum kit at all or do you stick with marching snare? Sigh.... I need to get out my practice pad again...

@DrummerGrrrl Haha, thanks again. I'm not really much of a drumset player... I'm more of a specialist in marching/rudimental percussion.
