OCELOTS -Stars Stripes & Spots?

The Ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) is struggling to keep its small estimated population of 100 alive here in the United States. Not many people know that we have these small exotic felines living in Texas.
Their native habitat was replaced by farms and now they have to avoid getting hit by cars in their search for territory to call home.
With conservation groups protecting Ocelot populations in Mexico and South America (they are currently listed as least concern IUCN's Red List ), I think it is time we do what we can to get the Ocelot population back up in the S/W United States.
What can you do?
Do what Big Cat Rescue volunteers did (and what I did this month) and donate to the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge by adopting an Ocelot here:

  • I use to have an ocelot a summer I went to my parents country years ago..it was a wild one that would always come over and fed it, pretty kool cats. I have been wanting to adopt one lately.
