This was Tony Hancock's venture over on the rival channel after leaving the BBC and Galton and Simpson for pastures new. Although it was panned by the critics, it still has some funny moments and only six episodes of this series are known to have survived. It was a series of 13x25min episodes that ran from 03/01/63 until 28/03/63. He reprises his character of the pompous fool, and his timing is as good as ever, but it's obvious the scripts are written by another group of people. Take the best of this programme and enjoy it. The guest star is Brian Wilde, better known for 'Porridge' and 'Last of the Summer Wine'.
@uxghmnrt5930 Surely it's up to the wider fans to judge that not Hancocks brother. Hope these are released.

@cogsinister100 I wish these would be released I agree with you 100%. The clip of him falling through the shop window in the ATV series was hillarious and G&S couldnt have done it better.

Not a great script, but can't fault any of the performances. Please can someone post up more of this series?

all 13 epidoes should exist (although only six have reached collectors) - part of the reason Hancock went to ATV was that they were recorded and he kept the rights. Tony's brother, Roger (who is I think now dead) always prevented them being released as he felt they weren't very good and he wished his brother to be remembered at his peak.

The ATV series was nothing like as bad as its made out to be in many quarters.....not classic by any means, but far from the disaster you would imagine from many of the websites ect.
