Can never play too many Townes' songs .See the clip of The Other Side for why these are poorly aimed .

  • its a good thing she has a name for herself--before attempting this classic song--cause if she had to bank on this song -she prob would have been homeless--its the worst rendition ever on a great song---stay in your own field sweetie--cause you suck in this one.

  • @8276205 I asked Townes about your comment and he said "worst comment ever". She's great and you .... .

  • @8276205 you must not know who Emmylou Harris is. It's a good thing you didn't bank on the knowledge of good music, cause you would've been broke, homeless, and out of luck, brother.

  • Very nicely done.. Then again, anything EmmyLou does rocks in my book.. But Merle and Willie will always own this song for me..

  • @8276205 What a moronic comment! Emmylou discovered this song and has banked on it for decades, she keeps it fresh to this day. Virtually all of her renditions are breathtakingly beautiful. This version is great for the vocals by the great Dr. John Starling of Seldom Scene fame. Also check out Emmylou's 1978 version (OGWT) and how Gillian Welch and David Rawlings interpret the song. One of the greatest songs ever.

  • I saw her do this Thursday night in Dallas. It was so beautiful I almost forgot to breathe.

  • Poor Townes has been deceased since Jan 1 1997! Emmylunatic, do you really communicate with the dead. If so I have a few questions you could graciously pose to Townes.

  • Poor Townes has been deceased since Jan 1 1997!

  • @8276205 Who do you think did it first

  • @Bullet1960 They definitely do, but Townes owns this song in history

  • Silly, silly fool! It is a good thing you DON'T have a name for yourself, 8276205, because if you had to bank on your comment, you'd be homeless, SWEETIE! Emmylou recorded this song in 1976, long before Willie Nelson, or any other artist to cover it. Regardless of your opinion of this LIVE version, she's amazing, and you are nothing but a number, SWEETIE! Stay in your own field!
