nippon 2009: nyk hikawamaru chapter 1 (日本郵船氷川丸-最初篇)

take a walk in once it was called the 'queen of the pacific', m/v hikawamaru, in the accomodation block.

operated by nippon yusen kaisha (nyk line), in its 30 years of service, hikawa maru crossed the pacific 254 times, carrying around 25,000 passengers and a great volume of cargo. during and immediately following world war II, the vessel served as a hospital ship and returned some 30,000 wounded soldiers to the japanese homeland.

this video is dedicated to all mariners out there sailing onboard merchant vessels in the lonely oceans.

Excellent video. Well done! I have longed to visit Japan and see this preserved liner. Now I feel as if I have been at sea on board her. Such a beautiful ship. If only the ships of today could be like this. Thank you for posting such a superb video.
