operated by nippon yusen kaisha (nyk line), in its 30 years of service, hikawa maru crossed the pacific 254 times, carrying around 25,000 passengers and a great volume of cargo. during and immediately following world war II, the vessel served as a hospital ship and returned some 30,000 wounded soldiers to the japanese homeland.

Excellent video. Well done! I have longed to visit Japan and see this preserved liner. Now I feel as if I have been at sea on board her. Such a beautiful ship. If only the ships of today could be like this. Thank you for posting such a superb video.
