This is so cool watching Shawn play this Tony Williams Lifetime song from the 1975 album "Believe It". I love Shawn's playing on this. This drummer was playing a more heavy rock sounding beat on it, but he did a great job anyway. I wish I would have seen Shawn in concert before he passed away. Thank God there are great videos like this. RIP Shawn

I'll take Holdsworth.. His lines are musical and make rhythmical and theoretical sense..

Well, I definitely got my Lanes-Worth from this one. Pun intended.

Unbealivable chopps..............

@wickedsensation Well,Shawn said it was Holdsworth that inspired him before anyone else did after he checked him out live for the first time.I suppose that beeing what it is,, like most of us we study and aspire to play what moves us the most artist/music,,etc.I have no doubt that Shawn knew alot of Allan's music maybe even all of it,lol,.But yes even Shawn Lane had Idols like Holdsworth as clearly heard in his own music.
What an amazing player he truly was there will never be another Shawn.

Okay, so they're not sweeps...
-
Sweeps at 2:13!!!
Followed by some godly hybrid picking...
followed by some godly alternate picking... then
The patented Shawn Lane intervallic lick!!!
EPIC IS THIS!!!
Shawn had such a great respect and admiration for Allan and it really shines through in this rendition of Fred. Shwan was such ana amazing player...would have been really interesting to see where he was gonna take his playing to next. Such a tragedy he left us so early...
