Steve Earle, you just can't beat him.

I started listening to Steve Earle as a youngser growing up on Iron Maiden, Motley, Metallica etc. His songs always struck a chord with me for some reason. Funny in many articles he has a great respect for us Canadians. In the US, he was too rock for country and too country for rock. Canada being more open minded played on all stations. Shut up and die like an aviator does depict a Canadian Maple Leaf, also one of his best collections

@wynnerz73 Sometimes folks just need to themselves, Steve is is that .

I grew up listening to his music, now my nephew who's years younger than me loves his music and I take pride of that...Steve Earle's music always had a problem of being labelled...but at the end of the day it's Steve Earle on his own and that's what makes Steve one of the greatest musicians and will live on and on...as for me I label him my drinking party music...

@earlefan The original track from Exit 0 had piano in it. Very audible piano.

Thanks for the upload.
I've always consider Steve's stuff more country rock than bluegrass, I mean his stuff recorded from the 80's.

Tell me about it! Filming this was difficult and barely worth putting it online. But I think anyone who likes Steve Earle will appreciate it.

Who are these people ambling by?
Don't they know real talent? from an ancient Brit

@AdamHassan88 The amazing thing about Steve is that he can change his sound and still sound great. The Dukes have always been a rock band. Especially from '00-'05. They were a brutal four piece band. They would cover Nirvana, The Beatles, The Stones and many other great rock bands. I just prefer that line up.

The fiddle actually sounded quite great. The entire bluegrass festival was pretty much acoustic, even though everything was amplified, so it wasn't exactly a rock concert.

What's with this watered down version of The Dukes?? I love Allison but the keyboards are pointless. An what's with the fiddle??? With Roscoe they were such a in your face rock band. Dump the fiddle and keyboards and turn up Chris's guitar!!

@earlefan well. for one thing the video is not great so that doesn't help. The best I could do... and it's something.
