@JohnVerinder Delicate is not it. His playing is rarely delicate, though this is a miraculous version of Vieuxtemps.

It's a good recording, but I like more the one made in 1949 or something

so delicate was Heifetz, a violinistic miracle

who here plays this concert?

From a layman's point of view; a stunning artist, with such elegance. The soft tones have such a poignant and wistful beauty where required.,, a dreamlike quality to the listener. I am in the happy position of not being a violinist,,,and therefore am able to enjoy performances for their pure beauty and am not examining technical points,,,,with any half baked bigotry which one sees everywhere in comments on Youtube. I can therefore enjoy Mintz, Stern, Menuhin, the Oistrakhs, Perlman, etc .

@iWyke2 Please, as the true master, show what you can do to play this piece better than Heifetz can.
@bernaro i believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion. sure he may not be as talented as heifetz. im pretty sure very few are, but he can still speak up about what he disagrees with the way heifetz is playing, rite? it is debatable that heifetz, in general, takes his pieces too fast. dont talk down on someone just cuz of their differenc of opinion. agree to disagree?
