Little Gonkar was rescued from a pet shop by H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche where he was found neglected, underfed, malnourished and sickly. Now, he's rehomed at Liaison Jamie Khoo's family home where he gets lots of love, food and plenty of happy times!

  • It is kind to take care of a dog that is starving.

  • How else can we practise to be compassionate to all beings if we can't do so to a helpless dog?

  • How do we contribute or help to make Kechara Animal Sanctuary a reality? It is so easy to praise and talk about how great it is and how wonderful it is, but I would like to do more than just praise. I would like to help and contribute, and not just stop at offering my praises but wait for someone else to do the actual work of making it happen. So, please let us all know how we each can help and contribute - for those who truly care and believe in animal rights.

  • Bless you for rescuing this little dog.

  • If we can't find our heart to love all animals, at least we can try with some adorable ones first.

  • Oh so lucky Gonkar! He looks so unreal - just like a cuddly toy.

  • not saying fluffy dogs arent cute, but its not hard to be sentimental about rescuing cats & dogs.

Don't forget all the other animals... the chickens, cows, goats, frogs etc.. if we want to be kind to our animal friends (not just the fluffy ones), we need to stop eating them too!

I see Rinpoche is a strong advocate of vegetarianism & I hope the animal shelter comes about too

  • I didnt know that Tibetan arts are available outside Tibet. How interesting. Wow, this Buddhist centre is really one of a kind to bring even Tibetan arts to their organisation.

  • I hope Kechara Animal Sanctuary will be built so that many neglected and abandoned animals will have a better place to live.

  • Yes, there arent that many animal sanctuary around that the animals can roam freely and be in a green habitat.
