The Eyes of Tammy Faye Trailer

Tammy Faye Bakker's journey from traveling evangelist to weepy, scandal-scarred cult icon is chronicled in this tongue-in-cheek documentary from Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato that's narrated by RuPaul. The film was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and details Jimmy Bakker's infamous affair -- which, in essence, ended the PTL Ministry -- as well as Tammy's emergence as a hero to alternative-lifestyle communities.

I liked the documentary, but everytime I saw those puppets after each chapter, I would crack up! Especially when they said, "the ish hit the fan." LOL!

I recently saw this movie on Logo and it made me think of Tammy Faye much differently than she was previously portrayed to the public. She really had a rough time of it dealing with all those challenges in her life.

I am glad Jerry Falwall was revealed for the person he really is. I never knew how he tricked Tammy and Jim by pretending to help them and then outright told another story to the public.

Two examples of how things are not what they appear to be. I'll remember that!
