On Thursday, February 5, 2009, The Weather Network reported the following temperatures at Toronto Pearson Airport. Max Temp: -9 °C Min Temp: -22.2 °C Mean Temp: -15.6 °C.
-15°C is brittle-cold. I was about to switch from the north subway train over to the west when I saw two police officers and a young man with no coat. With head down, hands in his pockets and his thin T-shirt torn at the back collar, he'd drawn the attention of at leasst two Toronto Police officers, two TTC Special Constables and two private security guards from the Eaton Centre.
This video has been blurred to protect the privacy of the young man and the Special Constables, Police and Security Guards who assisted him. MISSISSAUGAWATCH tried hard to strike a balance between telling this young's man story and protecting his identity.
Officers brought the young man a coat and gave him the patience he needed to decide to leave quietly with them. With the economy in the downturn it's presently in, this young man's story is likely repeated over and over again inside Toronto's transit terminals. After all, it's warmer there.

It was freezing out and the youth had only a thin ragged T-shirt on. It was also clear to me the police knew him (an officer called his name). I think he came into the subway station to get help. And I bet he received it from the constables/police.

Never said Canada was perfect. But sure better than much of US! Likely most of US.

Also, you don't have to tell *me* how Corrupt government is! I assume by "our Government" you're referring to the US. Canada (especially my local government) is so corrupt as youth correctly wrote me with "The System is CORRUPT there is no way to fix it."

Video, Freedom of Information shows he's right. The Vulnerable (at-risk youth, poor, elderly/Alzheimers) are government's greatest victims!

The cops just waited until they got him out of camera range to put the boots to him. They're being trained to be more camera conscious now in an attempt to battle foot in mouth disease.

The government LIES to parents and kids! Hazel McCallion's own security guards (exempt from independent oversight) ban kids as young as 9-years old WITHOUT informing parents!

They ban a half dozen 11 year olds for skateboarding all at once WITHOUT informing parents!

McCallion's guards don't inform parents when kids are banned. So how can parents correct their kids?

$3,000 worth of Freedom of Information goes a lot farther than $3,000 in coats or even food. For example Freedom of Information confirmed the fraud of government --fraudulent claims of following policies when government security guards/staff were abusive to youth/minors.

That municipal staff LIE, DENY and STONEWALL. That our own governments *are* the Root of Youth Violence.

How do you know he was homeless, did you follow him for the next 24, 48 hours? How long before the Police arrived did you film? WOW, $3,000 in freedom of info! How many coats would that buy? One, for this kid? Ah, I get it, don't get immersed in the story, he is just a prop for your crusade. Got it! Sell you camera, it doesn't focus anyway, and feed the homeless, if you care. AH! Okay! Thanks for perservering and explaining! (It's clear I thought you were talking about something else!)

Yes. I know. TTC Specials are in no way Mississauga constables.

And just to let you know, interpo007, I actually emailed the TTC about their Specials. And the gist of it is they go through the same training as police. Even public complaints mirror that of police.

I got the message that TTC Special Constables are Police without guns! (Should be throughout METROLINX.)
