I think they did a really good job finding a super actor to play Dan's dad that actually resembles him a lot. Very believable likeness.

@asdfqwer90 Well, you might notice that during the episode they never say anything about Father's Day. No one says Happy Father's Day, no cards are exchanged, or anything to the like. Most likely, they just took it from the fact that this is a "day" when Dan's "father" came to visit, rather than the actually holiday of Father's Day.
