  • When I was around 11-13, I would have the good fortune of my Mom going to bed around 10:00 on Friday nights, with my Dad having fallen asleep on the floor in front of the TV.

I would hop on my bike to go to the Zippy Mart to get some sodas, candy, and comics - then I'd be back in time for the CBS Double Feature, starting off with The Night Stalker.

After that, if I was lucky, the late movie would be a horror flick (like The Posessed or The Devil's Rain, etc).

TV really meant something back then.

  • What a great double feature, too bad TV isn't like this anymore. I remember staying up late on the weekends watching movies like this.

  • Boy, those were the days when late night TV wasn't all talk shows and infomercials. Had lots of late fun back then. Today's kids would scoff at the limited choice of just a few broadcast channels, but today's cable is more like 130 channels and nothing to watch most of the time.

  • They should issue a DVD of this kind of footage.

  • Viewing this again, I noticed it was from Sept of 1981...by that time I was playing Football, and would have likely been wayyy too sleepy after practice or a game to be able to stay up that late....at least until our football season ended.

  • Yeah post more if you got 'em! I love those days... uh, nights!

  • You are so right!

  • the music from Night Stalker to CBS bumpers was also scary.

  • This would have been the Friday night double feature if I remember correctly. Long Live Dan Curtis!

  • I watched this VERY broadcast! Love it! Thanks so much for posting.
